Accessibility that's accessible
We are here to help you meet your accessibility goals! You may just be getting started, or you may be well on your way and just need an additional review. Whatever the case, we aim to help you make human-centric improvements that are understandable. We can help you find accessibility issues and improve your content.
How will accessibility help my business?
Typically, focus is on the legal side of accessibility, but accessibility is about better user experiences for everyone. It is about writing content in a way that your user's browser and other technologies can work together. When done well, accessibility results in better organized content, consistent user interactions, and overall a more usable site or application.
But, there is a legal side to accessibility. On March 18, 2002, the Department of Justice posted new guidance regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) that clarifies that the ADA does apply to the websites of businesses open to the public. Even before the clarification, an estimated 265,000 ADA Demand Letters were sent in 2020. 80% of major retailers have been sued. Yet, 98.1% of the top 1,000,000 websites have easily detectable failures against the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) guidelines.
Our services
We provide services to help you to:
- Understand industry technical standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
- Audit a selection of web pages/screens
- Build automation to detect common issues moving forward
Our team has worked on web accessibility of web content and dynamic applications for over two decades. We have deep front-end development experience with a variety of platforms to guide you as you progress. In a common scenario, we'll start with a review of issues that can be automatically detected. Then, we'll perform a variety of manual tests, such as for keyboard support. Finally, we'll perform screen reader testing.
Pricing will depend on the type of site or application, if the content is public or needs a specialized environment, the number of pages, etc. Contact us at accessibility@brucrewservices.com with a description of your project or questions you may have to get started.
